Emily Howard - Occupational Therapist

With over 20 years of clinical experience, Emily Howard is a highly skilled Occupational Therapist bringing extensive knowledge and expertise to the medicolegal industry.

 

For the past eight years, Emily has provided specialised, comprehensive assessments and expert opinions to assist courts in both ongoing and proposed legal proceedings.

Emily is experienced under cross-examination and has provided expert testimony at trial, demonstrating her ability to deliver clear, evidence-based opinions in legal settings.

​

Earning her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2005, Emily has gained diverse experience across rural and urban hospitals, community settings, and private practice. Her career has taken her across Australia, from the east coast to Far North Queensland and Tasmania.

​

In 2016, Emily further expanded her expertise by completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Sexology, deepening her understanding of how medical conditions, illness, and injuries impact sexual function. She is passionate about the role of sexual dysfunction in both recovery and employment, recognising its significance in overall well-being and quality of life.

Emily’s commitment to excellence and her deep understanding of both clinical and legal frameworks make her a trusted expert in the field of medicolegal occupational therapy.

Kirsten Barker - Occupational Therapist

With extensive experience in clinical rehabilitation, occupational therapy assessments, and workplace modifications, Kirsten specialises in helping individuals recover from injuries, regain independence, and safely return to their daily activities, including return to work.

 

Her expertise include activities of daily living assessments, functional capacity evaluations, ergonomic assessments, and tailored rehabilitation planning, working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

In the medicolegal field, Kirsten provides meticulous, objective, and evidence-based assessments, delivering high-quality reports that support legal and insurance matters. Her evaluations align with best clinical practices, offering lawyers, insurers, and other stakeholders reliable insights for informed decision-making.

​

She holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) and has a diverse background in Vocational Rehabilitation, Community Chronic Conditions Services, Inpatient Rehabilitation, and Aged Care. Her goal is to bring a pragmatic, goal-oriented, and client-cantered approach to every assessment, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and professionalism in the medicolegal setting.

By combining clinical expertise with a strong medicolegal foundation, she provides comprehensive, defensible reports that lawyers can trust when advocating for their clients.

Emma White - Executive Assistant & Business Development Manager

Emma brings a unique blend of legal expertise and business acumen to Insight Medicolegal. With a background as a family and commercial lawyer, she understands the intricacies of the legal industry and the importance of high-quality expert opinions.

 

Emma also holds a Business degree with a Marketing Major and she is passionate about business development, marketing, and events.

 

She plays a key role in fostering relationships with law firms, expanding Insight Medicolegal’s reach, and driving strategic growth initiatives.

Emma is also deeply committed to supporting the Sunshine Coast community, spearheading local initiatives and fundraising efforts that make a meaningful impact. Through Insight Medicolegal, she helps champion causes that promote well-being and positive change in the workplace.
